I searched the tag “thick girls” and honestly was somewhat appalled at the results. Skinny girls with “chubby girl” and “thick girl” as the tags,the girls looked like there were a size 2. As a bigger girl I loathe the word “fat” “fat girl”, people really don’t realize how hurtful tht word is. I saw posts saying “majority of these fat girls on tumblr are just laszy and don’t wana do the work to lose weight”. Regardless of if I workd out an hour a day everyday I wouldn’t evr be thin, I’m 5’9 && have a bigger bone structure. As well as posts talking about “oh fat girls that think they are skinny” If a skinny girl can call herself fat why does noone make fun of her? Why can’t a fat girl call herself skinny w/out being made fun of? I have never claimed to be skinny, I’m not. Do I envy thin girls, absolutely. Only because in the eyes of society bigger people are generally treatd lk they aren’t people with feelings too. It’s as if in our world if you aren’t stick thin you’re “fat” WHY!? Why aren’t more bigger women praised for their beauty? Now granted I will admit society is starting to be more accepting. I hve extreme self esteem issues along with thousands of other “fat girls” due to the fact that we don’t fit the mold of what a beautiful girl should look like. Says WHO? The magazines? So many men would prefer an unattractive thin girl than a beautiful bigger woman. I admit that I don’t workout as much as I should so I am unhappy with my body. However I do believe that I am beautiful and I have a bigger brain and heart because of it. Granted I don’t prefer bigger men, but I would NEVR tell a guy “eww no you’re fat or gross etc”. I wonder how many suicides there are each year because of being calld “fat” all the time? I wish I had a penny for everytime I’ve been called fat, I’d have more $ than Oprah. Speaking of bigger women. She is a bigger woman but she is on top of the world & is absolutely beautiful insde and out, no matter how big or small she gets. I don’t make fun of extremely skinny girls calling them names lk “stick” or anything lk that, hell I can’t evn think of any examples. I’m not trying to have apity party or anything of the sort. I am mrely saying if our society doesn’t change it’s outlook on what is TRULY beautiful then well I think we’re all gonna be considerd fat in 10yrs. Young girls should be obsessing over boys, and barbies, having fun and enjoying life- not wether they are too fat or too skinny. EVERYONE is beautiful in their own way. One of my favorite movies is Shallow Hal, he only saw inner beauty and it totally changed his perspective because even the most beautiful women were hideous when looking at INNER beauty. The more we focus on inner beauty the less hate and bias we will have in this world.
